About me
I received my Ph.D. from Texas A&M University in Curriculum and Instruction. I currently work at the University of Houston and am the Assistant Director of teachHOUSTON, a secondary STEM teacher preparation program. Through our grant-funded initiatives, we recruit and train secondary undergraduate STEM majors and those interested in alternative certification to become teachers. Our STEM graduates work in high-need districts in the greater Houston area. We currently have grants that have enhanced our efforts to recruit, train, and retain computer science students. We employ many recruitment strategies to encourage CS majors to explore the benefits of the added credentials. I would love to hear from you if you have successful recruitment efforts and programs for computer science students that you would like to share with me. I am also interested in sharing about our innovative programs. Please reach out.
