Daniel Freitas is a Computer Science educator and teacher trainer based in Brazil, currently working with the Somos Educação through the Mind Makers program. He holds a degree in Computer Science Education and has over eight years of experience teaching and training educators in K–12 settings.
Since 2019, Daniel has been actively involved in supporting schools across Brazil in implementing Computer Science as a curricular component aligned with national educational guidelines. His work focuses on teacher professional development, helping educators integrate computational thinking, digital culture, and problem-solving into their daily classroom practices.
Beyond teacher training, Daniel collaborates with school leaders, coordinators, and families to promote awareness of the importance of Computer Science education in basic education. He also supports schools in organizing technology fairs and student-centered events, where learners showcase projects developed through the “Mundo Computacional” curriculum.
Daniel has international experience in educational and cultural contexts, having participated in initiatives across Latin America, Eastern Europe, and Africa. His work is driven by the belief that Computer Science education empowers students to move beyond technology consumption and become creators, critical thinkers, and active participants in a digital society.
