Matthew Cushing is the Executive Director of the Rice Center for STEM Engagement at Rice University, where he leads Broader Impacts initiatives that connect research to real-world impact. With over 28 years in education, he’s passionate about bringing STEM to life through partnerships that link classrooms, industry, and emerging technologies like AI and app development.
His work focuses on expanding access and preparing students and educators for the future workforce through relevant, hands-on learning experiences. Matthew serves on the Texas Education Agency’s Executive STEM Advisory Committee and is a Senior Fellow in the American Leadership Forum (Class LXIV).
