WeTeach_CS Summit 2026

In this interactive 1-hour workshop, participants explore Fortifying Castles: Quantum Leap, a project-based learning experience that integrates physics and cybersecurity. Using the driving question, “What will it take to protect our data in a world powered by quantum computers?”, the workshop connects medieval castle defenses to modern digital security. Attendees examine defense-in-depth through historical and contemporary lenses, engage in inquiry-based activities, and see how students apply physics and cybersecurity concepts to redesign castles as quantum-ready data centers.

Generative AI and chatbots are increasingly used by students as “always-available therapists,” yet many don’t recognize the serious risks of sharing personal or emotional data with these tools. This session explores how oversharing with AI can expose students to privacy, safety, and ethical concerns, while also examining the potential of AI to support social-emotional learning when used responsibly. Attendees will learn how intentional digital citizenship instruction can help students critically evaluate AI, protect their data, and engage with these tools in safer, more informed ways.

Explore how Kusto Query Language (KQL) powers real-world cybersecurity investigations in this hands-on session. Participants will work through a KC7 cyber case and learn practical query techniques used by analysts every day. We’ll connect these skills to classroom applications, showing how KQL fosters problem-solving and critical thinking while introducing students to industry-relevant tools. Leave with strategies and resources to bring authentic cybersecurity experiences to your learners.

In today's Cyber digital age, cybersecurity skills are in high demand across all industries. By obtaining a cybersecurity certification, our students can greatly enhance their career and academic prospects, positioning themselves as valuable assets to potential employers and universities. Early involvement in cybersecurity will keep them ahead of the curve, especially as cybersecurity and AI become critical economic indicators.

CyManII proposes a session for the WeTeach Summit showcasing how our Education & Workforce Development team directly supports K–12 computer science and cybersecurity learning.
