TI-Nspire II with Codrone in the Classroom
Monday June 15, 2026 9:45am - 10:45am CDT
In this session, participants will take learning into the third dimension by using drones to teach and reinforce core mathematical concepts through movement and measurement. Using TI-technology with Python, participants will see how coding and STEM skills emerge organically when students apply math to control real-world systems. Participants will gather real-world data using the Codrone onboard sensors that can be analyzed in the classroom. This session will highlight Texas Instruments supported resources that make drone-based lessons accessible and classroom ready.

Build It, Wire It, Code It: Hands-On Physical Computing Projects
Monday June 15, 2026 12:45pm - 1:45pm CDT
In this hands-on session, educators will learn to wire and code three highly engaging physical computing projects using the BBC Micro:bit, Makey-Makey and a Bit Board. Make a Zap-It reaction game, an electronic Operation-style game, and an electronic blackout poem. Designed for students ready to move beyond basic micro:bit activities, these projects deepen student understanding of coding, circuits, and the engineering design process. Using accessible materials like conductive tape, aluminum wire, simple wiring, and legos, participants will see how physical computing fosters creativity, cross-curricular connections, and high-level thinking. Full lesson plans available for these successful projects used from 3rd grade GT to 9th grade Principles of Engineering.

If possible, please bring your laptop. We will be using deceives with a USB Type A cord.

Stop “Bee-Bot”-ing Around: Designing Intentional Computational Thinking Opportunities
Monday June 15, 2026 2:00pm - 3:00pm CDT
Participants will leave this session with a cross-curricular, engaging, hands-on Bee-Bot unit and a clear understanding of how to intentionally design lessons that strengthen sequencing, debugging, decomposition, and problem-solving while maintaining high engagement for young learners.
This session supports educators in intentionally designing and customizing learning experiences that develop authentic computational thinking across core content areas using Bee-Bots.
Participants will move beyond surface-level play to instruction that produces meaningful instructional impact. Educators will learn how to embed computational thinking into daily instruction in ways that are developmentally appropriate, measurable, and aligned to state standards.
