Small Robots, Big Learning: Physical Computing Made Easy in K-5
Monday June 15, 2026 12:45pm - 1:45pm CDT
In this interactive presentation, I’ll share practical strategies and classroom-tested resources for using VEX 123 robots to make computing accessible and engaging for every elementary learner. Participants will:

-Explore ready-to-use activities that integrate physical computing with literacy, math, science, and more (no CS background needed).
-Hear the full story of how Comal ISD introduced and scaled VEX 123 across all elementary campuses, including training structures, classroom implementations, and teacher feedback.
-Reflect on student outcomes and inclusive teaching practices that support learners of all abilities.
-Walk away with alignment ideas to standards and instructional models that make CS a natural part of daily learning.

This session emphasizes hands-on engagement and teacher usability, offering both curriculum resources and the implementation mindset needed to make physical computing effective in K–5 classrooms.
